Owen Hoeft

Founder & Coach

Owen is a Brooklyn-based elite runner and coach, originally from Minnesota, where his approach to training was shaped by years of running through northern winters. He was a state champion at Hopkins High School, an All-American and Big Ten Champion at the University of Minnesota, and competed professionally with Minnesota Distance Elite.

He holds a B.S. in Kinesiology and an M.S. in Exercise Physiology. Owen has coached as a volunteer assistant at the University of Minnesota, with Brooklyn-based run clubs and race teams, and privately with athletes ranging from beginners to Olympic Trials qualifiers across events from the track to ultras.

Owen’s coaching is human-first — empathetic, individualized, and collaborative. He emphasizes clear communication and helping athletes take ownership of their training, not just follow it. He believes running is more than performance — it’s a way to explore your limits, and in doing so, better understand who you are.
